InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – European Union (EU) proposed new regulation, EU Deforestation-Free Regulation (EUDR) that raised concern in plantation and forestry producer countries, particularly Indonesia and Malaysia. The goal is about to make sure that there would be no deforestation in product supply chain. This is taken as a loss of exports for some commodities, such as, palm oil, cocoa, coffee, rubber, and wood products from the two countries.

InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – Trade balance of Indonesia got impressive surplus in March 2024, as Ministry of Trade reported. The surplus reached US$ 4,47 billion. This was positive and got the new record, 47 months in a row since May 2020.

InfoSAWIT, BANJARBARU - South Kalimantan Province did a brave action to escalate food security in the province. Through Livestock and Plantation Agency, the province launched the first planting in the smallholders’ replanting program (SRP) for plasma and in intercrop method with paddy gogo. The program would be the first in Kalimantan Island with its kick off in Kotabaru, Wednesday (24/4/2024).

InfoSAWIT, PONTIANAK – According to Fresh Fruit Bunch (FFB) Team of West Kalimantan Proivnce in the third period - April 2024, the 10 – 20 year old FFB is gets cheaper Rp 56,01/Kg to be Rp 2.775,10/Kg.

InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – Crude palm oil (CPO) tender at PT. Kharisma Pemasaran Bersama Nusantara (KPBN) Inacom was Rp 12.363/kg on Tuesday (23/4/2024) which means it got escalated Rp 181/kg or about 1,49% to Monday (22/4/2024) tender that was Rp 12.182/kg.

According to the industrial experts, palm oil could be a rare commodity in the future because of some factors, such as, decreasing production, decreasing harvests, and purchase from India, as the biggest vegetable oil importer in the world.

InfoSAWIT, ACEH – Director of PT Pembangunan Aceh (PEMA), Ali Mulyagusdin delivered announcement that the company would construct palm il refinery in Aceh. It would take advantages on crude palm oil from every district in the province. "Palm oil refineries would be in some spots that we are still studying,” he said, as quoted from Aceh Journal National Network, Sunday (21/4/2024).

InfoSAWIT, PEKANBARU - Badan Riset Inovasi Nasional (BRIN) and Sub Holding Perkebunan Nusantara, PTPN IV PalmCo, keeps collaborating to succeed renewable energy from palm oil waste. After successfully developing palm oil liquid waste to be biogas in PalmCo Regional III, Riau Province, the research focus is to escalate biogas production by applying empty bunches in (biogas) process.

InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA - Cico Jhon Karunia Simamora of Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Tanjungpura said that feces of cow, though it may be taken as regular waste, actually, it has complex materials and structures which are useful. There are important materials in feces of cow that plants need. The structures have significant roles to absorb nutrition and escalate land fertility.
