3 Palm Oil Companies in Jambi Are Categorized as KHG

InfoSAWIT, JAMBI – In Jambi Province there are three palm oil companies where they operate in the map of Kesatuan Hidrologis Gambut (KHG), they are, PT Felda Indo Mulya (FIM) Tanjung Jabung Barat, PT Bumi Borneo Sentosa Tanjung Jabung Timur, and PT Dewa Sawit Sari Persada Tanjung Jabung Timur.

It was decided by the Decision of Minister of Environment and Forestry Indonesian Republic Number SK.130/MENLHK/SETJEN/PKL.0/2/2017 about Decision of National Peat Ecosystem Function Map.

Head of Plantation Agency Jambi Province, Agusrizal said that his side got the invitation to join zoom meeting with General Director of Forestry Plan and Environment Spatial in the early of April 2023. In the discussion there was indication that the three companies are categorized in KHG.

“That is right that the three companies in Jambi are in KHG. This is from the map. From Plantation Agency Jambi Proivnce, we do not get official documents from General Directorate of Forestry Plan and Environment Spatial to check the location,” Agusrizal said, as InfoSAWIT quoted from AksesNews.

He thought there would be something to do to fulfill what General Directorate of Forestry Plan and Environment Spatial asks to recovery plans for the three companies.

His side is still waiting for the recovery plans because sometimes, General Directorate of Forestry Plan and Environment Spatial would directly send official documents to those in charge without telling Plantation Agency Jambi Province.

“Sometimes we have had unclear coordination because this is different ministry. We should get official documents (to Plantation Agency Jambi Province) to be involved in the recovery,” he said. (T2)
